Growing Character Devotional Journal for Girls is a GROWING BUNDLE. That means that I will continue to add to it.  You purchase it once and will be notified when new content is added.  You will be able to download the the new additions, at no additional cost.

As more content is added, the price will increase.  So you will want to purchase this  bundle as early as possible.

WHY A GROWING BUNDLE?

I've decided to offer this product as a Growing Bundle for a couple of reasons.

Reason #1 - This is an extensive project and I want to take my time.  I am creating this product for my own daughter and with yours in mind, so I'm meticulously pouring over it.  I don't want to rush to publish it all at once at the risk of sacrificing quality.

Reason #2 - This journal will be a devotional that your child can use for the entire year and I'd like for our girls to be able to begin in January, which is soon approaching.

You will need to purchase a Notebook for your daughter.  Print the cover sheet (included) and slip it into the clear sleeve on the front of the notebook. Print Week 1 (included) and add it to the notebook. You're all set to begin the first week of January.  I will upload the preceding weeks as I have them ready.  You will receive a notification via email from Currclick.  You can print and add new content to your daughter's notebook as it becomes available.

WHY A DEVOTIONAL JOURNAL?

I wanted a daily devotional book for my children, and so the search began.  I was able to find a good one for teen boys, and you can read about that recommendation on my blog.  But, I just couldn't find what I was looking for in a preteen/young teen girl's devotional book.

I had some pretty specific things that I wanted to see included and some things I wanted to avoid.  First, I wanted it to include Scripture! I did not want a devotional style book with short stories.  I wanted my daughter to be challenged to think about what she was reading and how to apply it to her life.

After having written a number of Bible Studies for Preteens, this project seemed to be a good progression of that series.  I was able to tailor make this journal to include the things I had in mind for a study.

WHY A CHARACTER STUDY?

The preteen/young teen age can be challenging.  Girls this age are exploring who they are and developing their individuality and personality.  It's the perfect time to work on identity and character building.

In addition to studying a character trait, your child will be studying a character in the Bible who exemplified that trait.

HOW IS EACH DEVOTIONAL SET UP?

There is a Weekly Sheet with the Character Word and definition that will be the focus of the week.  There is a place to write the weekly Memory Verse.  This sheet also includes a place for writing down prayer needs for family and friends as well as praises.  Following this sheet are 5 daily sheets - for Monday through Friday.  Each daily sheet includes 4 sections:  Plant it (Introduction), Water it (Bible Study), Watch it Grow (Application), and Memory Verse practice.

Character Traits that you will see in upcoming weeks include...

Worthiness - Mary Magdalene

Loyalty - Ruth

Courage - Esther

Perseverance - Hannah

Generosity - Mary (Lazarus’ sister)

Kindness - Rebekah

Humility - Mary (Jesus’ mother)

Self-Control

Hospitality

There will be 47 character traits studied this year - one for each week of the year, excluding spring break, fall break, Thanksgiving week and Christmas break.

I purchased the Back to School Bible Learning Bundle a while ago. Isn't this the same (initial) content? Is it also part of the "growing" series?

Hi Kathy, I shared your link for the character Bible Study for young girls on my FB page. My daughter would like to buy this for her daughter. If I buy this while logged in will there a choice in the ordering to have it sent to my daughter or does my daughter need to create an account?

Actually, children use their own Bibles in whichever version they choose. Let me know if you want a sample and I'll send a week your way.
Hope that helps!

I was excited after purchasing this and seeing the first week in detail. I think it will be great for my daughter. However, I think I might have misunderstood exactly what a growing bundle means. I am not prepared to pay $1 every week for a total of $47 for a devotional/journal that I have to print at home! Maybe you can clarify this for me. Thanks

Sorry for any confusion. Thanks LaKrisha, for adding some clarity. Yes, the $1 price is all you'll have to pay. The new content will be added at no additional cost to you. You should receive en email every time new content is added. I've already uploaded three weeks worth of materials, with the plan to upload at least one additional every week until the total 47 weeks worth of materials is complete.

What is the age group this is focused on? My daughter is 8 and I am wondering if she is too young for this material.

I think with a little guidance it will be OK for preteens. I am getting it for my 9yo. Granddaughter.

I think that's a good age. She needs to be able to read from her own Bible. The questions aren't too complicated, but some do challenge girls to think beyond yes and no responses.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
