This course will introduce the idea of defending the historic Christian faith.  We will use the Apostle's Creed as our guide.  Each week, an element of the Creed will help consider how we bear witness to our faith, and how we help people consider the truth of Christianity.

From the Creed                                      Regarding Apologetics

God the Father Almighty                         Purpose in Existence

God the Creator                                     we are created for purpose

Jesus Christ, God's Son                          Who is Jesus?  Is he unique?

Conceived and born                                God has come near

Suffered, crucified, dead and buried         What is salvation?  Is Jesus the Savior?

Raised, ascended, seated, from thence     Resurrection

The Holy Spirit's work:  the church           Why is the church important to God's message?

the communion of saints                         Is there life after death?

Forgiveness of sins                                 Is faith just personal?

Resurrection of the Body                         Is judgment real?

the life everlasting                                  Witnessing

About the teacher:

Greetings!  My name is Kenneth Good.  History is a passion of mine, a life-long adventure; discovering and identifying the themes and patterns that accompany the story of humanity.  For believers, history is placed under God’s reign.  Studying history provides us constant pictures of the Lord’s majesty and power, grace and salvation.

I am a historian, and so are you, you just might not know it yet.

I am a husband, father of four, pastor of two small Presbyterian congregations along the Delaware River, author and teacher.  I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Bible from Philadelphia College of the Bible, my Master of Divinity from Biblical Theological Seminary, and an additional year of study at Princeton Theological Seminary.

My teaching career began in the summer of 2008 at Bloomfield College (NJ), as adjunct faculty teaching New Testament as Literature.  From 2008 to 2014, I taught at Kean University (NJ), a state university, as adjunct faculty in the History Department.  My current teaching includes partnering with my wife in homeschooling, and tutoring within our homeschool co-opt group.

In 2014, my first children’s book If I Were a Puzzle was published.  In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, walking and baseball.

Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
