Track attendance, grades, anecdotal records and space to include photographs of your student's projects. You may have downloaded the Free Basic planner and log book on Sept 29th but did you know that a planner is only part of the record keeping expected upon entering your child to the college of their choice? A portfolio can be another big part of that. Yes colleges can and do allow students without a portfolio but if your student has covered everything in EN 101 in her homeschool class and wants to take EN 201 you'll notice in the class description that it says under prerequisites EN 101 or Permission of the instructor. Your portfolio of the course at home will help your instructor know that yes your student is ready for EN 201
