This book was researched and written initially during the fall of 2008, as the current crisis first came to the forefront of our thoughts. It was updated again a year later, in November 2009. It was initially entitled a "Brief Introduction", but when it hit 100 pages, I figured the title had to be changed.

I am not an economist, but I am an Economics teacher -- and I have enjoyed sorting through the history of our country in this area so that I could understand it well enough to share it with my students.

Don't worry, it is well footnoted! I had to look up many of these terms myself -- and I try to make it easy to understand.
