“Hi, I didn’t post for this e-book, but I want to tell you how much I have enjoyed this study. It is obvious that Sher has put a lot of prayer and thought into each lesson. This is something that you may want to pray about getting, as it appears she has a gift in this area.” –mebegley “I think it is wonderful. It is different from things I have seen before. I also like the feature of multiple moms contributing. You get multiple answers to “chew” on. It is something that has not been done before, which is also something I like. A new twist.” –Chasity “Sher, Thank you for this Bible study. I have greatly enjoyed it. This study came at a time when we are having many changes in our family and gave me many good points to ponder, and scripture to confirm God’s presence in our lives. My husband has recently stepped-down from his job. We are looking for a new home and investigating foster parenting. We homeschool and I work part-time as a nurse. Our plates are pretty full, but we are waiting for God’s leadership in all areas. This study has reconfirmed God’s hand was on Moses through all he went through and he will lead and guide us also. Sometimes it is so hard to go through transition, from one area of work for God to another; at this point we are waiting for the next door to open. Thank you so much. This has been a blessing to me and I hope you are blessed in return. AND I am looking forward to your new daily devotional. I have my quiet time and computer time in the mornings before the household awakens and a daily devotional would be wonderful. “ -Cindy “As a mom that has belonged to two different Christian co-ops, I have seen many women very unsure of what they are doing in respect to teaching the Word, and many feeling like they have left the Lord somewhat out of their homeschool. So many feel pressured to imitate what the public schools are doing and so have a whirlwind day, trying to teach several students many different subjects, all in different age levels and add in bits and pieces of Christianity. Often they are NOT happy with what they doing in teaching their children about the Lord. And may even leave it up to the church except for a small daily attempt. I find that parents do not want to talk much about what they are doing to train up their children in the Lord in their homeschools. They will talk curriculum, home management, meals, field trips, etc. I think this is because their is nothing out there to truly guide THEM spiritually first in the Core issues and many are overwhelmed with the basics and home management. For me, it is only through prayer and you, Sher, because we were led to do SOW that we have made the Bible and the LORD our #1 priority in school no matter what. I have talked to so many others about SOW and have been disappointed in the response I have gotten. Now there are many great Christian curriculums out there but they don’t involve a true study of the Bible. They just add bits and pieces here and there. I think this will be a huge blessing to parents who are floundering, or new, giving them some clear direction, and so many truly essential elements are discussed in this study. My husband does encourage me to keep spiritually fed through the Word, as well as other sources. It is very difficult being with the children 24/7 at times. I think gleaning insight and encouragement from other homeschooling moms is like a breath of fresh air. ANDDDDDDDD it can help avoid burnout, giving-up, etc. What makes us different—I think because we are taking the Word, applying it to our own walk first, and then applying it to how we are teaching of our children. Personally, I think it is a BIG needed area. So much is devoted to the physical aspects of homeschooling—curriculum, attitudes, learning styles, teaching more than one, etc. But I usually don’t see anything for the mom’s spiritual growth and how she is bringing the importance of a personal relationship between the Lord and each one of her children.” -Blessings, Debbie |
