In this 6-week study, students will examine the scope of the Native American peoples. They will examine the history of these various peoples and compare and contrast their culture, traditions, lifestyles and religious beliefs. They will also learn about the lives of famous Native Americans and their contributions to their tribes and our nation. The six weeks will be divided into geographic regions, studying the various tribes of people in each region, with an emphasis on one representative tribe. Students will gain an understanding for God's heart for native peoples and their need for salvation, and will look for opportunities to pray for and minister to these people groups. The unit covers the disciplines of history, social studies, geography and map work, language arts and hands-on activities. Reproducible worksheets are included.
