The largest rodent in North America is the beaver. People do not see a lot of this large rodent because it is a nocturnal animal; it rests during the day and comes out to work and eat at night. When a beaver is not resting, it is hard at work! Have you ever heard the phrase “Busy beaver?” Beavers are very busy animals! Your student can learn about this industrious animal in the Beaver Project Pack from In the Hands of a Child. This 58-page Project Pack includes a 10-page Research Guide about the characteristics, habitat, anatomy, and more. Next, students will find 21-hands on activities to help them complete a lapbook on the beaver.
