Who Has the Patience for all these Patients? File Folder Game
by Evamarie S. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 07/01/2014 21:16:31

This is such a cute game to learn and/or review the topic of homophones. The instructions to assemble are easy to follow. The rules are very simple and it really makes learning fun. I would say this is geared towards early elementary aged students but it's fun for older children as well. Perfect for older siblings to play with a younger child.

Cute game to teach homophones to children! I think it's a very creative idea and I like how a doctor was incorporated into it! My sons like to pretend to be doctors so this would be a great game for them!

Name That State File Folder Game

This game has easy to follow instructions, and having just the shape of the state on one side of the card really helps the kids remember the shapes of the states. I like that the answers are printed on the back of the card so they can be used as flashcards also.

Who Has the Patience for all these Patients? File Folder Game Published by Integritas Academy My kids are little old, or so I thought, for file folder games. I was wrong. This was a great learning tool! They learn much better playing this kind of game than making them do some sort of workbook. I played it with them while the Principal kept hold of the answers. A few things the kids brought to my attention to improve this fun game: make the squares numbered somehow and have the questions be on cards. We ended up with players on a square that somebody had just answered so then would skip to the next square. Not have the multiple choice style answers on the board. Different/bigger playing pieces. This may have been different had I used card stock instead of printer paper

At 12 and 14 they actually liked playing. Just not challenging enough. Even though they seemed too old, I give this a a 5 because it is outside the box kind of learning….exactly our style. And for $3 you can’t beat the price!

I received this free in return for my review. My opinions are my own and not of HOTM. HOTM Team, Katey

Name That State File Folder Game

What a fun little file folder game to help your kids (and let’s face it, probably you too!) master US geography! “Name That State” by Integritas Academy File Folder Games would be a great way to introduce your kids to the placement of the states and can be played a couple of different ways so that your children can learn not only the 50 states based on their shape, but their capitals as well.

The basic approach of the game and its pieces also give you the room to get creative and use the game how it suits you best. For instance, you could very easily play the game “backwards” and have to find the states based solely on their names, without looking at the outline images, taking it a step farther and making it a little bit more difficult. This option would also allow your children to be able to play on their own and self-check their work. This idea isn’t mentioned in the download, but I think it would be a great way to get beyond your money’s worth out of an already great product.

“Name That State” is fairly straight forward and could easily be used for almost any age group to learn from. My kids love games where they have to find things, and the first couple of times as they are initially becoming familiar with the states placement it almost takes on a “Where’s Waldo” kind of feel! As they start to really know the placement however, it spurs on fun and lively competition to see who remembers the most!

Versatile, simple and fun, “Name that State” is a terrific choice for anyone looking to teach or learn basic US geography, young or old!
