I absolutely love this ebook! I have been raising a family for a decade now. Throughout that time I have explored many ways to provide for them...educationally, nutritionally, emotionally, etc. However, doing the job well is not always easy, and new ideas for how to create a nurturing home are always helpful.
Preschool Activities in a Bag gives you all of the information you need to make your own, easy-to-grab activities for your young child. What's more is that it specifically tells you how to coordinate a group swap for these activities. With the right people and a little dedication and organization, you can have 40 new activities ready to keep your preschooler stimulated and happy.
I am looking forward to organizing a swap of my own. We'll have fresh ideas with a low-cost yield just in time for the new school year!...

This study is perfect for those who are wanting to do some sort of holiday study without putting aside their regular studies. The lessons are laid out by day (five days, plus a bonus), with one carol being studied per day. Since the lessons are highly dependant on internet links, with a sentence or two of guided text interspersed, it would be possible to put together a similar study simply by doing some online research. However, the organized way this study is laid out, the ease of use, and the time saved by having the research already done is especially attractive at this busy time of year. I wish there were a little more information included in the actual study so I wouldn't have to be tied to the computer, however this is still an enjoyable, easy to follow unit study. The file also includes the complete lyrics for each of the songs, so you can print copies and take the children caroling....

Love it!
I don’t just love the looks of it; we actually took this one for a test flight. We spent about 3 weeks with Amanda Bennett’s Flight Unit Study, and I can say- we LOVED IT!
I love that each day is structured. You still have to pick and choose what exactly you will do (like you would with any unit study), but each day you get words of wisdom (vocabulary), today’s quote (copy work), interesting people & places to explore, and questions to read and discover. You definitely need to use the internet (great link suggestions provided) or library (tons of good book suggestions provided) in order to complete this study.
This unit is written for two levels (lower and upper-- we used the lower); you get everything I posted about for each level for each day. The unit is written to last four weeks, but you can shorten it if you don’t want to spend that long.
We had a ton of fun learning about Leonardo, Icarus, The Wright Brothers, The Montgolfier Brothers, Amelia Earhart, Be...

Why Use Drama? is a great resource for classroom teachers who want to find a new and creative way to get students reading - and re-reading too! The article discusses the chemical changes that take place in the brain of a child who has been read to from a favourite book so many times that he begins to "read" it without ever having a lesson in how to read. This sort of recitation from memory, it appears, is not so very different from actual reading. And even for a student in third grade or higher, re-reading a text helps to promote skills fluency and comprehension.
Drama, it turns out, is the perfect way to get students to re-read a text without getting bored with it. The article discusses a variety of different ways to perform a play (readers' theater, stage performance, radio play, puppet show, even a musical production) all with tips on how to go about organizing the performance. There is also information on time frames, enlisting help from other adults, and evaluating drama perfor...

If you have read any of my reviews you know how much I adore Hands of a Child Lapbooks? There are a few things you will need to supply like some scissors, glue, paper and a file folder etc. the supplies you need are minimal and you probably have them laying around already. They are fully organized for you. In The Great Ice Age Lapbook they give you 34 pages, which includes 20, hands on activities for your lapbook as well as the 14 pages of research plus you receive websites to visit, a list of books and links to create a well-rounded study of the Ice Age.
There is some cutting involved with lapbooks, but what I have done in the past to make it a little easier during the lessons is to take the activity information pages and fold it in half pasting the two sides together and then I have a pocket for all the components ready for me to paste them into my folder. I made sure I pre-printed and pre-cut all the activities so that it makes it more enjoyable for my kids and makes it go a bit...
