Selections From The Tales of Beatrix Potter
The tales of Peter Rabbit and Beatrix Potter's other anthropomorphic characters began as a series of illustrated letters to the 5-year-old son of her former nanny. The nanny suggested publishing the letters, and the stories became among the best selling children's books of all time.

Beatrix Potter's fantastic menagerie wear clothes, get into mischief and learn life lessons in this charming collection of classic stories. Join Peter Rabbit as he braves Mr. McGregor's garden, Benjamin Bunny in his quest for lost shoes and a kindly tailor who is rewarded by the mice he rescued from his cat.

Alcazar revives all of this in their rendition of:
1. Jemimah Puddleduck
2. The Tale of Mrs. Tiggle-Wiggle
3. The Tailor of Gloucester
4. Mrs. Tittlemouse
5. Jeremy Fisher
6. Peter Rabbit
7. Tom Kitten
8. Benjamin Bunny

Beauty & the Beast - East of the Sun, West of the Moon
Two traditional and well loved fairy tales known to many generations of children. Presented in an entertaining and wonderfully appealing way with a full cast of characters performed by voice actors. Enjoy Beauty’s first introduction to the frightening Beast and his gentleness which engages her until she is finally so in love with him that magical things happen! And the unusual journey to East of the Sun and West of the Moon is an adventure with another surprise ending.

Cinderella, The Frog Prince and Rumplestiltskin
The traditional Fairy Tales with all the charm and fun of the familiar stories. Cinderella gets her Prince, Rumplestiltskin loses his prize, and the Frog Prince gets his princess. The beloved tales known for so many years and presented in an entertaining and wonderfully appealing way, with a full cast of characters, performed by voice actors.

Dollypogs
The gentle story of a Labrador puppy (Dollypogs) and her two pals (big old Jetset and little Snuggles) both orphaned but adopted by Dollypog's loving Master, David Thorn. How they all came together and their adventures as a loving family. Very sweet and touching.

The Land of the Blue Flower
An enchanting and mysterious tale of a far away land where a young king transforms his kingdom with a blue flower and some positive thinking. It is a story of love and the beauty of nature where the young king is taught by an old and sacred man what love means and how it can transform the world.

Mother Goose's Nursery Rhymes
A collection of favorite Mother Goose nursery rhymes set to children's familiar music. Children love the stories that often repeat and will often learn and sing the songs like Farmer in the Dell with great gusto enjoying the fun of the experience to the utmost.

Paul Revere's Ride and The Pied Piper of Hamelin
Old poems of exciting events for the children in all of us.
Paul Revere's exciting midnight ride to warn all the neighbors in the countryside that the British were coming ... one light if by land and two if by sea.

And The Pied Piper of Hamelin...got rid of the pesty hated rats, but when the villagers refused to pay for his services, the Pied Piper took matters into his own hands...and the villagers paid a very dear price, indeed, in the end.

Racketty-Packetty House
Now, this is a story about the doll family I liked, and the doll family I didn't. When you read it you are to remember something I am going to tell you. This is it: If you think dolls never do anything you don't see them do, you are very much mistaken. When people are not looking at them, they can do anything they choose. They can dance and sing and play on the piano and have all sorts of fun... but they can only move about and talk when people turn their backs and are not looking.

Fairies know this and often visit in all the dolls' houses where they are welcome. They will not associate, though, with dolls who are not nice. If one is conceited or illtempered, one will never know a fairy as long as one lives.

Join in the fun of the characters and see what really happens when they are left to their own devices…and wonder at the wisdom of the fairy queen and revel in helping all of them to escape discovery by the nurse or the little girl who so mistreats them and wants to send them to the garbage heap…they live again with another mistress in a wonderful new world.

The Reluctant Dragon
The Reluctant Dragon is far more interested in writing and reading poetry than in belching fire to frighten and threaten the townspeople. He befriends a young villager and has a wonderful adventure facing St. George, the famous slayer of dragons, in a mock battle of ferocious, but harmless fun.

When a dragon is discovered up on the Downs, the Boy is not in the least surprised. He's always known the cave there was a dragon cave, so it seems only right for a dragon to be living in it. The Boy decides to pay a visit to the cave, and he thinks he knows just what to expect. But this particular dragon is not a bit like the ones in fairy tales!

Rip Van Winkle and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Washington Irving's two most famous stories are combined here. One tells of Rip Van Winkle who escaped the dreadful life of a hen-pecked husband by magical means and the other of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman on their midnight ride. Experience the fright of poor Ichabod when assailed by the headless horseman and laugh at poor Rip who spends a lot of time sleeping to try to escape the headache of a nagging and ungrateful wife.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
